Surcharge options
Rounds the surcharge percentage to the nearest step before the dollar amount is computed.
Reefer units burn extra fuel. Adds a planning uplift to the surcharge % (default 3 points — set it to your carrier's documented reefer basis).
If the computed surcharge falls below this floor, the floor amount is used instead.

How to use the result
Treat the result as a planning scenario, not verification of an invoice or a current carrier surcharge. Confirm the applicable schedule, benchmark period, percentage and charge base against your carrier agreement.
Key assumptions
EIA and NRCan publish diesel reference prices, not universal carrier surcharge rates. Reference-schedule source, version and carrier applicability are unverified; CAD/litre conversion does not select a Canadian carrier schedule. Vehicle fuel-cost impact excludes deadhead, partial-load allocation and carrier margin.
