Temperature-Controlled Food and Beverage Freight
OTR Logistics Solutions coordinates temperature-controlled food and beverage freight across Canada and the United States. Service may include heated, freeze-protected, controlled-ambient, chilled, refrigerated and frozen transportation using LTL, FTL, dedicated or expedited options selected around the requirements of each shipment.
The shipper or responsible product owner provides the required temperature, handling and product instructions. Equipment, monitoring and documentation options are confirmed for the individual shipment.

OTR is a Canadian freight broker that sources carriers for shippers of food and beverage freight, from frozen and chilled goods through heated and controlled-ambient programs. Cross-border moves between Canada and the US are available, and LTL may be an option where the lane and product allow it.
The shipper or product owner sets the temperature, and monitoring is not automatically included. Options are confirmed shipment by shipment.
Freight Planning, Not Product Decisions
This page is for planning transportation. It does not set product temperatures, give food-safety, engineering or disposition advice, or approve any shipment. Share your product's instructions with OTR, and see our heated, refrigerated and frozen freight guide for background.
Temperature-Control Options
No single range limits what OTR can coordinate. Your product instructions decide the requirement.
- For freight that must stay above a shipper-defined minimum
- Availability confirmed for the lane and season
- For freight that must not freeze in transit
- Equipment and instructions confirmed per shipment
- For products with a defined ambient range
- Range provided by the shipper or product owner
- Refrigerated equipment set to the shipper's instructions
- Pre-trip temperature information when available
- Frozen equipment options, subject to availability
- Handling and receiver instructions confirmed
- Multi-temperature when suitable equipment is available
- Other shipment-specific temperature requirements

What OTR Confirms Before Dispatch
OTR confirms details against the instructions you give. The shipper or product owner provides the temperature, handling and product requirements, and stays responsible for them.
Our food and beverage shipping checklist helps you gather them. It is a planning aid, not regulatory approval.
- Product description and the temperature instructions you supply
- Equipment type and whether multi-temperature equipment is suitable
- Service mode: FTL, LTL, dedicated or expedited
- Pickup readiness, loading windows and receiver appointments
- Handling, product and food-safety requirements you provide
- Monitoring and temperature-record options for the shipment
- Cross-border details and customs broker contact
Cross-Border Food Freight
OTR coordinates carrier sourcing, shipment details, transportation documents and communication with the customer's appointed customs broker. The shipper, importer and appointed customs broker remain responsible for applicable import, food-safety and customs requirements. OTR Logistics Solutions does not provide customs brokerage.
Cross-border freight servicesMonitoring and Temperature Records
Monitoring and records depend on the assigned carrier and equipment, and are not automatically part of every shipment. Ask for them when you request a quote, and OTR can coordinate what is available, including pre-trip temperature information.
To read a record and spot problems, try the temperature excursion analyzer or the temperature-controlled freight guide.
